The South Leicestershire Oral Participation Society or SLOPS is a fancy name
for a bunch of lads that basically meet regularly every six to ten weeks or
so for the purpose of orally entertaining each other (tell jokes, take the
P, etc.) and to orally partake of good pub grub plus the occasional pint or
six.
Definition:
'Grub' (colloq) - scoff, nosebag, nosh, food. [Old English] Apparently does
not include salads!
We are all eighteen, some for longer than others, in fact much longer, years
longer! We started out as two separate groups of
friends that met up every 6-8 weeks for a meal, a chat and a few beers.
Since I was common to both groups it seemed a sensible idea (for the sake of
my waist line) to bring the two groups together. And so what we now call
SLOPS was born.
Most of us hail from one side or other of the construction industry and it
usually shows! We are not particularly rowdy but some of the jokes, well
they just ain't funny.
This web site is about us for us, it is just a bit of fun. It is not
intended to offend anyone except ourselves. If you have any comments please
